Happy Birthday Synolda!

As the Queen celebrates her sixty year reign of Great Britain this year, one of the Railway's most treasured locos so too will celebrate a rather important landmark. 2012 marks the 100th birthday of Synolda.
Synolda will be celebrating her centenary year in style with a visit to Rail Fest, York between 2nd - 10th June 2012.
In preparation of her debut at Railfest in the next few days, Synolda has journeyed to the North Yorkshire village of Sand Hutton, the place of her birth back in 1912. Although the Sand Hutton Light Railway closed in 1932, Synolda celebrated her homecoming with a special birthday party at Sand Hutton Primary School. It was quite the change of scenery compared to the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway Museum!
Special thanks to Sand Hutton Primary School for welcoming Synolda and giving her a special birthday treat!
If you are interested in visiting Rail Fest 2012 and learning more about the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway and their engines, as well as other Railway's throughout the UK,
So, all that remains to be said is Happy Birthday Synolda!
