Take an evening journey from Ravenglass to Dalegarth and enjoy the views of Eskdale Valley at dusk. Upon arrival at Dalegarth Station you will be served a fish and chip supper, made freshly in our café, before returning down the valley to Ravenglass. Dogs not permitted.

Get ready as PJ Masks Heroes Vs Villains take over the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway! Hero, Catboy and Villain, Luna Girl will be appearing together at intervals on each day.

Join in the fun this Easter and bring those teddies because #TeddyFest is back! All children with a teddy bear travel for free when accompanied by an adult with a Calling All Stations ticket. Grab some food from our cafés and enjoy a teddy bear picnic or follow our teddy trail and explore our on site Museum.

Join us as we celebrate the birthdays of some of our engines! Our oldest engine, River Irt, is turning 125, Willan Beck will be 90 and Perkins will also be turning 90.
A big bumper birthday bash will be taking place across the weekend with lots of mini events including short tours of Murthwaite Quarry (book your tickets in advance below), commentary trip in our NEW observation carriage, a photography evening, a celebration of Katie’s centenary of leaving the Railway (book your advance tickets below) and the infamous Driver for a Fiver!

Ravenglass Railway Museum's engine, Katie will take a special 2 coach train to Murthwaite for a guided tour of the stone crushing plant - a usually inaccessible site.

Explore our magical station gardens and become part of the fairytale. Pick up a free unicorn trail and take part in some magical crafts! Free child entry when dressed up and accompanied an adult with a valid Calling All Stations pass. An exclusive day out on the Railway for all young engine enthusiasts! Go behind the scenes at Ravenglass and find out how engines work with the author of Peter’s Railway as your guide.
Then head into the Museum, where you will be read a Peter’s Railway story; each child will receive a book signed by the author himself! You will also receive a complimentary ticket for a return steam journey which can either be taken on the same day or any time in the 2019 season.

The National Trust returns to Dalegarth Station for hands on fun; find out how to build a den, create a dry stone wall, learn about species and their habitats plus lots more! This event is free and part of our scheduled service.

It is Summer and that means Kids Free Fridays are back! Kids travel for free every Friday during the July & August School holidays.
Just bring along an adult with a valid Calling All Stations pass and get FREE child entry!

Yee-haw, buckle up cowboy! The Wild Wild West is coming to the Lake District! Join in with our themed activities and become a true cowboy.
Children in fancy dress and accompanied by an adult with a valid Calling All Stations pass, travel with us for FREE on this day.

Are you looking for a real scare?! Back for 2019 and scarier than ever be prepared to scream on our truly terrifying Ghost Train! Travel the line in darkness and see if you can make it back to Ravenglass safely as you encounter lots of surprises on our haunted train tracks.
Your ticket includes a return train trip and of course lots of terrifying scares on the way back to Ravenglass.
Please note, this train is designed to scare and we recommend that smaller children travel on our normal service trains instead. Strobe lighting will be used at this event. Dogs not permitted. Not recommended for children under 10.

Time: Transport train departs Ravenglass at 18:00, ghost train leaves Dalegarth at 19:15
