The Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway has two cafés for both passengers and local residents to use:
The Turntable Café is located at Platform 1 of Ravenglass Station and is managed by Janet Dickinson whose talent for homebaking is reflected in the wide array of different cakes, pies and pasties on offer. Dogs are not permitted within this cafe.
At our Dalegarth-for-Boot terminus visitors will find Fellbites, a contemporary eatery managed by Kath Graham, a true foodie who has a passion for creating exciting seasonal specials using local ingredients where possible. Dogs are permitted on the ground floor of this building only.
The Ratty Arms is a family-run pub in Ravenglass, serving hearty pub grub and real ales. Situated on the main railway line that runs between London and Scotland on the branch which skirts the Irish Sea and runs between Lancaster and Carlisle, The Ratty Arms is also easily accessed via the platform at Ravenglass. The pub celebrates every significant event in the English calendar, hosts a weekly quiz and also hosts frequent acoustic and electric music events.
Our cafés are available to hire for private functions, including; parties, wedding receptions, childrens birthdays and corporate events.
Both outlets are open daily throughout the season, for detailed opening times please see our main menus on the individual café pages.
