Group Catering Options at the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway

Here at the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, we have a diverse catering offer, with a number of different food and drink options to suit your group's requirements. Whether it be a pub lunch in The Ratty Arms, or a cream tea in one of our cafes, full Cumbrian breakfast, our friendly catering team are on hand to ensure you are sufficiently fuelled for your trip on our heritage railway.

The Turntable Cafe

Turntable Café is located on platform 1 at Ravenglass Station. The café's seating area spans over two floors with the upper floor seating 50 people. Ideal for group reservations. Please note the below prices do not include travel on the railway. for train travel return journeys and first class upgrades click here. 

  • Soup and sandwich offer for groups. From £14.50 pp.
  • Cream Tea boxes ‘on the move’. Pre order and collect on arrival at Ravenglass to enjoy on the train up the valley. Picnic box comprises of 4 x triangle mixed selection of sandwiches, scone, clotted cream, jam and butter. Tea or filter coffee in a takeaway cup.  From £14.00 pp.
  • Early birds. Kickstart the day with our new breakfast menu and a full Cumbrian breakfast cooked to order. 
  • Christmas tours £4.50 pp mulled wine and mince pie per person. All Christmas for groups tours can be found here.

The Ratty Arms

The Ratty Arms pub is the newest addition to our catering offering and overlooks the mainline station, serving pub food and some of the finest local beverages. This unique venue is perfect for railway themed group tours a homage to those who love all things railway-related  Pre book food options include soup and sandwiches, cream tea settings and we can tailor to your requirements. The Ratty Arms pub seats up to 60 people, with booth seating overlooking the main Cumbrian railway line.

NEW Christmas lunches at The Ratty Arms. Enjoy a festive turkey dinner with all the trimmings including Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, pigs in blankets, stuffing, selection of vegetables, topped with gravy and cranberry sauce. Your festive feast is served with a festive Christmas cracker, don’t forget to wear your hat ! Served with tea/coffee and a mince pie  £25 per person. Contact us for details.

Fellbites Cafe

Situated at the foot of England's highest mountains, Fellbites Café is located at Dalegarth for Boot station and serves a delicious range of lunches, snacks and ice creams! It's a great place to stop and refuel after the first leg of your journey from Ravenglass station . There is a large gift shop area on the upper floors with a selection of souvenir and train themed gifts. Located on two floors with seating for over 60 persons and a dedicated area for customers enjoying a cream tea experience on the lower floor. This is the perfect place for a refreshment stop to enjoy a tasty treat or a spot of retail therapy before your train journey back down the valley to Ravenglass station.
