A brand new event this Summer from the Ravenglass Railway Museum. Every Tuesday during our yellow timetable service you can become a steam engine driver for just £5.
We are running short driver experiences outside our workshop every 15 minutes giving you the opportunity to drive our engine, Katie, yourself. You will even receive a certificate at the end!
Katie was built in 1896 by Sir Arthur Heywood, came to our railway in 1916 and has recently returned to working order. To celebrate we wanted to put on this new event and as a bonus, anyone called Katie can participate for free!!
Timeslots will be running from 10:30 - 15:30 and you can book your timeslot in the booking office at Ravenglass.

T&Cs
-Minimum age 17.
-Participants must have a full driving licence. The licence must be produced before session or participation will not be allowed.
- Sensible clothing must be worn (i.e. no high heels or open-toed shoes or polyester/nylon trousers)
-The Driver reserves the right to refuse travel if the participant is unfit to do so.
-Participants must not be under the influence of illegal drugs or intoxicating liquor.

The National Trust returns to Dalegarth Station for hands on fun; find out how to build a den, create a dry stone wall, learn about species and their habitats plus lots more! This event is free and part of our scheduled service.

It is Summer and that means Kids Free Fridays are back! Kids travel for free every Friday during the July & August School holidays. Just bring along an adult with a valid Calling All Stations ticket and get FREE child entry!

Take a steam train to Eskdale Green and then walk back to the sea over Muncaster Fell with your Lake District National Park Ranger guide.

Meet at Ravenglass at 10:15am.
£5.00 per adult for the guided walk (train fare is payable upon arrival).

We are joined by local Cumbrian arts & crafts designers with goodies ranging from art to handcrafted handbags.

Take an evening steam journey from Ravenglass to Dalegarth and enjoy the views of Eskdale Valley at dusk. Upon arrival at Dalegarth Station you will be served a fish and chip supper, made freshly in our café, before returning down the valley to Ravenglass. The train departs from Ravenglass at 6pm and returns from Dalegarth at 8pm.

£18.00 per person.

Head to Turntable Café at Ravenglass for our fundraising coffee morning. Help raise monies for a great cause with all proceeds going to MacMillan Cancer Care.

Join us as we welcome Peppa Pig again and visit her in the marquee as well as taking in a fabulous magic show with Stu-Di-Doo.

Book your “RIDE ALL DAY” ticket online and save* or just turn up on the day and purchase at the Ravenglass ticket office.
Outward journey is from Ravenglass on an allocated time slot, please choose on booking. Return seating from Dalegarth Station on a first come first serve basis.
Your ticket includes all day travel on the Railway, meet & greet and a voucher to return to the Railway in the 2019 season. Enhanced event train service will be running this weekend.

Time slots for tickets from Ravenglass are: 9:25, 10:25, 10:45, 11:25, 11:45, 12:25, 12:45 or 13:25.
£16.50 per adult, £9.90 per child.

(*Online saving £1 on the adult fare and 50p on the child fare [under three years FREE]).

Are you feeling brave? Travel the line in darkness and brave our Ghost Train!
Your ticket includes a return train trip (ghost train is one way only), family-friendly activities at Dalegarth Station, sweet bag on departure and of course lots of scares and spooks on the way back to Ravenglass.

£16.00 per adult, £8.00 per child. Dogs not permitted.

Enjoy a magical train journey and keep your eyes peeled for Santa! At Dalegarth meet Santa in his grotto and receive your own gift.
Your ticket includes return train journey, gift for the children, 50% voucher for the 2019 season for adults, complimentary drink and a mince pie.

£21.50 per adult and child aged 1-11, £13.95 per child aged 12-15.

Train times are 10:00am, 12:50pm or 3:40pm

Christmas lunches are also available to book to make your day even more special. Lunch timeslots are specific for the train you are booked onto. If you are travelling on the 10:00am train lunch is after your return at 12:50pm, for the 12:50pm train lunch is before departure at 11:30am and for the 3:40pm train lunch is also before your departure at 2:30pm.
£13.00 adult lunch, £7.00 child lunch.
