An exclusive day out on the Railway for all young engine enthusiasts!
Go behind the scenes at Ravenglass and find out how engines work with the author of Peter’s Railway as your guide. Then into the Museum where you will then be read a Peter’s Railway story; each child will receive a book signed by the author himself! You will also receive a complimentary ticket for a return steam journey which can be taken either on the same day or anytime in the 2020 season.
Please note: this event is not suitable for children under 5 years old due to the engineers workshop part of the event. Minimum of 1 adult per 2 children.
Dogs not permitted.

Join us all day and meet our very own mascot, Ratty the water vole, at Dalegarth Station. Appearing at various times throughout the day. This is included as part of your standard day ticket.

The National Trust returns to Dalegarth Station for hands on fun; climb a tree, find out how to build a den, learn about species and their habitats plus lots more! This event is free and part of our scheduled service. Please note, there will be a nominal charge for certain activities.

We are so excited to announce that Thomas the Tank Engine is returning to the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway!
Join the us for train loads of fun and a day of anniversary celebrations!
Take a train ride with Thomas, the number 1 blue engine. Meet The Fat Controller who will be keeping all of the celebrations in order and join Sodor Station Sweepers Rusty & Dusty in a birthday singalong.

Plus lots more to enjoy, including:
• Watch re-enactments of classic stories with Thomas and The Fat Controller.
• Join Rusty and Dusty’s storytelling.
• Find out how our railway inspired the original books featuring Thomas The Tank Engine.
• Other Thomas & Friends-themed activities.

Are you looking for a real scare?! Back for 2020 and scarier than ever be prepared to scream on our truly terrifying Ghost Train!
Travel the line in darkness and see if you can make it back to Ravenglass safely as you encounter lots of surprises on our haunted train tracks.
Your ticket includes a return train trip and of course lots of terrifying scares on the way back to Ravenglass.
Please note, this train is designed to scare and we recommend that smaller children travel on our normal service trains instead. Not recommended for children under 10. Strobe lighting will be used at this event.
Dogs not permitted.

Time: Transport train leaves Ravenglass at 18:00 but you can travel earlier in the day if you wish. Ghost train leaves Dalegarth station at 19:15 and does not return to Dalegarth. Event ends at Ravenglass at approx. 20.30.
