Peppa Pig returns to the Railway for the second of two visits in 2017! Peppa Pig will be making personal appearances at 11.15am, 13.15pm & 15.15pm. Plus she’ll be appearing during Story Time sessions, led by a narrator, at 12.15pm & 14.15pm. Purchase a Ride All Day ticket and select your time of travel on one of our special trains to the activity marquee at Dalegarth (reserved seats are only provided for the journey to Dalegarth, not the return to Ravenglass). Here you can see Peppa Pig and enjoy some entertainment. There will be photos opportunities so don’t forget your camera! Time slots for tickets are: 9:25, 10:25, 10:45, 11:25, 11:45, 12:25, 12:45 or 13:25 Book your Ride All Day tickets online in advance to save. Online ticket prices are £15 adult, £7 child (3-15), free for children under 3. Tickets on the day will cost £16 adult, £8 children (3-15), under 3 free on the day. Ticket includes full line return (reserved seat on the way to Dalegarth ONLY), Peppa Pig Appearances, marquee activity and a half price family voucher to return in the 2018 season. Please note: Dogs are not allowed at this event and a buggy park will be available at Ravenglass. Return seating is allocated on a first come first serve basis, we will be running an enhanced timetable on both of these days.

Take a trip up the Ravenglass & Eskdale railway in search of contemporary wildlife paintings, living in the landscape of the Eskdale valley. Artist Sarah Taylor is bringing her vibrant wildlife paintings on an adventure along the Eskdale valley, with paintings installed in a variety of locations along the Railway. Come along and see how many you can spot from the train. Join us for a very special photography charter in partnership with the Ravenglass Railway Museum. Get the opportunity to get some fantastic and rare photos from the tracks of Synolda and Count Louis as this double headed train heads to Dalegarth. We have two trips planned: a 07:00 departure from Ravenglass and a 13:10 departure from Ravenglass. The train will stop and perform run pasts in various locations along the line, in both directions, where access is not normally available to the public. You are welcome to photograph the engines being prepared in the morning too. Both cafes at Ravenglass and Dalegarth will be open for you to purchase food and refreshments. This event is outdoors so please ensure that you wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Tickets are £40 per person and there is a small limited number available. Please note dogs are not allowed at this event.

Join us on 25th October and ride the La'al Ratty like you would have in 1917. Step 100 years back in time with the Ravenglass Railway Museum on this exclusive special round trip to Dalegarth; double-headed by their 1912 Bassett-Lowke Class 30 locomotive, Synolda and visiting brother Count Louis. The train will depart from Ravenglass at 10:50 and will return back down the valley from Dalegarth at 13:10. Ticket prices are £18 adult, £11 child (aged 5 - 15), children under 5 travel for free, £1.50 dogs. This is a special service so numbers are limited and event tickets are required.

Back with more spooky tricks than ever in 2017 with two extra dates! Feeling brave? Travel the line in darkness and keep those eyes peeled for some of our fiendish friends! This event is very popular and must be booked in advance. Ticket includes all day travel and a reserved seat on the Ghost Train from Dalegarth. The Ghost Train steams out of Dalegarth Hollow at 6pm but please note that this is a one way journey only. Make sure you park in Ravenglass and allow time to catch the train up the valley. Activities at Dalegarth include facepainting and spooky arts & crafts. Plus, have the chance to get up close and learn more about some amazing owls at both main stations. You may even spot an owl out and about on a train! Tickets are £16 adult, £8 child (3-15), children under 3 are free. Ticket includes all day travel on the railway, a reserved seat on the Ghost Train from Dalegarth, activities at Dalegarth station and a spooky sweet goody bag when, or if, you return! Please note: dogs are not allowed at this event. This event is very popular and tickets must be booked in advance.
