Here, Santa’s elves bring classic Christmas tales to life through an interactive storytelling session. Led by the Head Elf, this engaging introduction sets the festive scene and builds excitement before boarding the train.

The Santa Express Steam Train Journey

After storytelling, climb aboard the Santa Express for a scenic 40-minute steam train journey through the Eskdale Valley. The Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway is renowned for its narrow-gauge steam locomotives, and this special festive service offers a unique way to enjoy the Lake District landscape during the Christmas season. The journey is filled with seasonal atmosphere as you travel towards Dalegarth.

Meet Santa at Dalegarth Grotto

At the end of the line, guests arrive at Dalegarth Grotto, where Santa and his team of helpers are waiting. Children are invited to meet Santa individually and receive a Christmas gift, creating a memorable moment for the whole family.
