Group Tours at Ravenglass and Eskdale Steam Railway
We have a fantastic range of group tour options to suit all itineraries and budgets. Any tour that is booked with us can be personalised to your requirements. We work with our trusted partners in the Lake District National Park to be able to offer a large variety of add on options.
Organised tour groups of ten or more people qualify for our group fares; please note this is only applicable for advanced bookings from organised tour operators, official organisations and community groups only. Tour guides and essential companions travel FREE. FREE parking for coaches at Ravenglass station. All group tours must be booked directly with us in advance and can either be paid for by invoice (requires a credit application) or paid for on the day of travel.
Steam to the Hills Tour
A return steam departure from Ravenglass with an option of either an immediate return journey from Dalegarth for Boot station or time to alight at the station. The second option allows you to enjoy the facilities, pre-book lunch, or explore Boot Village and visit England’s oldest working Watermill.
The single journey time is approximately 40 minutes from Ravenglass to Dalegarth. Single journeys are available on request. Prices from £7.50.

VIP First Class Steam to the Hills Tour
A return steam departure in one of the First Class carriages from Ravenglass with an option of either an immediate return journey from Dalegarth for Boot station or alight at the station. There is an option to add lunch or food options to this tour for an additional charge.

Steam on the Wild Side with Muncaster Castle
A return steam departure from Ravenglass combined with a visit to Muncaster Castle and Gardens. The Castle is less than a ten-minute drive from Ravenglass and makes for a fabulous day out. Don't forget to take in their bird of prey display too!

One Happy Family with Ullswater Steamers One Hour Cruise
A combined fare with our sister attraction, Ullswater Steamers. The tour includes a one-hour single journey seven-mile cruise on Ullswater from either Pooley Bridge or Glenridding piers and a return steam trip on the railway from Ravenglass station. The tours do not have to be taken on the same day.

Christmas Tours at the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway
Enjoy a festive treat in the Lake District onboard heritage steam trains. Our Christmas timetable operates from Boxing Day 26th December to 2nd January 2025. Pre-book festive lunches at The Ratty Arms or enjoy a mince pie and non-alcoholic fruit punch tipple on ‘Mince Pie’ trains.
Catering for Groups
We can tailor group menus to suit your requirements, locations include the two onsite cafés or traditional pub ‘The Ratty Arms’ at Ravenglass station. From soup and sandwich lunches, traditional cream teas, cream tea picnic boxes, to simply hot drinks and cakes. We can cater for special requests and/or corporate functions.
