Coming soon – 1876 Dalegarth Station Café will be situated on the lower floor at Dalegarth for Boot station in the beautiful Eskdale Valley, in the Western Lake District. This attractive food and drink setting will offer a varied menu of light snacks and meals.
In addition to a separate dedicated area for customers enjoying a First Class Afternoon Tea Experience, our spacious café will be the perfect place to catch your breath and enjoy a tasty treat after a trip on the railway.
About 1876 Dalegarth Station Café
1876 Dalegarth Station Café is scheduled to open daily to both railway passengers and the general public during the railway’s operating season, from the end of April. It is ideally situated for those seeking a place to eat near Scafell Pike or Wast Water, after enjoying walking or taking in the scenery.
The café has taken various forms over the years, but will be located on the lower floor of the Dalegarth station building with level access to the car park and step-free access to the platform via a sloping ramp walkway.

Boot village and local walks
Just a short walk from Dalegarth station lies Boot, a small, picturesque hamlet housing a pub, village shop and the famous Eskdale Mill.
Walkers are spoilt for choice with a network of routes, including the Eskdale Trail, accessible from the station. The viewing point at Stanley Ghyll is not to be missed!
