As part of your fare, you can enjoy a few extras on us, children's outdoor play areas at both main stations, access to a variety of walking routes to suit all ages, steam train photo opportunities, and a visit to the Ravenglass Railway Museum (free entry, donations welcome) to find out more about 'our story'.
Our intermediate stations are open but please note, they are request stops. The train will only stop if there is space on board. It is not possible to book tickets to or from these stations in advance but tickets can be bought from the guard using cash. Please observe station signage.
A single journey on the railway line takes approximately 40 minutes. We accept dogs, bicycles, and wheelchairs on our trains but please read below for further information. Please note that dogs are not permitted in some upgrade carriages or special events.

Upgrade Options
For just a small fee, you can upgrade your fare for a First Class seat ticket or take a special trip in our Pullman Observation Carriage 'Joan', with panoramic views. Directors' Saloon 'Ruth' compartments are available to hire for single and return journeys (maximum 4 seats inside & 2 outside).

Local Resident Passes - applications open for 2025
Please note that resident pass applications are open for the 2025 season. Applications will close on the 30th of September 2025 for the remainder of the 2025/26 season.
Apply for a local resident's pass, or renew your current pass, and you can enjoy:
- 25% off adult and child fares for full line return and single journeys only between Ravenglass and Dalegarth stations during opening times.
- Excludes special event days.
- Excludes experiences and first-class upgrades.
- Upgrade seats on the day for a small charge each way.
- Dog tickets are available at full fare.
The residents' pass is only available for customers living in LA7-LA23 and all CA postcodes.

Please make sure that you include a photo of your proof of address, in the form of a driving licence or council tax bill, and your contact telephone number. When your application has been processed, you will be sent an email with your membership number to purchase tickets. Tickets are only available for purchase online in advance of your visit.
