The Ravenglass Railway Museum is set to journey through time with a free ‘Dino Mania’ event next month, featuring the UK’s largest walking Ankylosaurus.
‘Dino Mania’ on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 September will feature life-size dinosaur puppets – including a herd of happy hatchlings – at intervals between 10am and 4pm.
For anyone who wants to combine a trip along Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, more palaeontological pals will be popping up at both Ravenglass and Dalegarth Stations at intervals throughout the day – usual prices and booking conditions to travel on the railway will apply and you can book tickets here.
The event will also include storytelling and hands-on activities throughout the day like fossil digging stations, dino-themed arts and crafts, and palaeontology workshops for the kids. There will even be dino gifts to take away.
As well as bringing the community together, ‘Dino Mania’ has been funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund to help promote volunteering experiences and there is the chance for would-be volunteers to find out more about the rewarding opportunities on offer at Ravenglass Railway Museum all year round.
