Halloween at the railway

Join us for some spooktacular fun and children's themed activities in Halloween week.

As well as some devilishly good decorations adorning the railway’s stations and cafés, there will be the added seasonal spectacle of ‘double header trains’ featuring two heritage steam engines rather than the usual one.

The trains are expected to run daily from Monday 23 to Friday 27 October on the 10.25am departure from Ravenglass to Irton Road (with 1 loco separating here and heading back to Ravenglass), along with full line returns for the 40-minute journey to Dalegarth departing Ravenglass on 11.25am services. That’s subject to operations and times/engines on the day may vary.

The Halloween fun and games will also feature a special 'Witch Trail' quiz, including a sweet treat for completed trail sheets handed in by children on the day.

Meanwhile, there will be further family fun in the Ravenglass Railway Museum, with spooky storytelling on selected dates. Booking isn't necessary, just drop in at the advertised times. The sessions are aimed at families. There's no charge, but donations to our Synolda appeal are encouraged. Click here to donate via JustGiving.

Thursday 26th, Friday 27th and Saturday 28th October | 12pm, 1pm and 2pm (approximately 20-30mins)

Plus, look out for the 'spooky trail', running throughout the half-term week. Trail sheets will be available in the museum.
