Halloween at the railway

Join us for spooktacular fun and children's themed activities in Halloween week.

On the agenda for Halloween week are our Peter's Railway Little Engineers Days, taking place on the 30th and 31st of October!

As well as some devilishly good decorations adorning the railway’s stations and cafés, there will be a 'Witch Trail' where younger visitors can spot clues on the way up the line and claim a sweet treat for correctly completing the spooky word.

There will also be the added seasonal spectacle of ‘double-header trains’ featuring two heritage steam engines rather than the usual one. Double-headed trains run Monday 28th October – Friday 1st November inclusive, subject to operational availability. Please see below for details:

The 10.25 train will be double-headed as far as Irton Road. From Irton Road the train will continue with one locomotive. The pilot locomotive (the front one) comes off the train and returns to Ravenglass to help the next train. The train engine (the second loco) continues with the train to Dalegarth as normal.

The 11.25 train and the 13.50 train will be double-headed all the way around the railway.

The 12.50 train and the 15.10 train will be hauled by only one locomotive (the train engine from the 10.25, making its second and third trips.
