Customers are required to pre-book tickets before visiting us and this includes picking your carriage and seat. We are running a new timetable so please be sure to look at this before booking your tickets. Everyone must wear a face covering (unless under 11 years old or medically exempt) whilst on site at the railway. Contactless card payments are advised, intermediate stations are shut and we will be retaining customer information for NHS Test & Trace.
There is lots to do on a day out at the Railway! Explore the Eskdale Valley on foot and take a step back in time in the Railway Museum. Whether it be at our main stations or in the surrounding area, we are sure you will find plenty to do on your day out with us.
Our own on site cafés bake their own cakes, pies and pasties on the premises. Pre-order your railway picnic for collection and takeaway options also available.
Step back in time and get hands on in the Museum. Owned by the Railway Musuem Trust, entry is free but donations help to preserve history.

Christmas is a very special time for us at the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway and we have some fantastic festive experiences to get groups into the spirit of the season.
We welcome groups (10 or more persons) to the Railway and have a wide variety of itineraries available to complete your group day out in the Lake District.

Located in the Western part of the Lake District National Park we have two main entry stations: Ravenglass to the South and Dalegarth for Boot to the North.
Dogs are welcome on the train for a small charge. Look out for the 'Paws for a While' water stops outside and lots of great walkies from the stations.
