The Santa Express Journey – Ideal for pre-school children! Climb aboard for a 40-minute steam train ride through the stunning Eskdale Valley on Friday 12th December, filled with Christmas excitement as you make your way to Dalegarth Grotto.
Meet Santa at Dalegarth Grotto – Santa and his team of merry helpers will be waiting to welcome you and guide you to your table. Pre-ordered food and your complimentary drink will be served at your table and you will be able to order on the day if you wish (subject to availability). There will be festive fun for all, with family groups called up to meet Santa. Children will receive their special Christmas gift, a festive railway book (with a relevant ticket).

- Complimentary hot chocolate on arrival at Ravenglass
- Non-alcoholic festive punch or tea/coffee for the adults and a Fruit Shoot for each child at Dalegarth. Other refreshments are available to purchase on the day.
- Christmas gift - children will receive a special festive railway book (with a relevant ticket)
- Standard return train travel from Ravenglass to Dalegarth (upgraded seats available)
Tickets and booking
Your seat allocations for the train and Dalegarth station will be issued on the day of your visit. Please check in at Ravenglass booking office on arrival. Options to upgrade train seats are available. All passengers in a group must book the same seat type, standard or upgraded. This ensures you can sit together and that we can provide the right service for everyone.
